Fortune Palace (福德宫)

The palace of the inner life — what a person actually enjoys and what they worry about. The Fortune Palace describes the interior: temperament, appetite, and the things a person returns to for relief. It is the palace the classical sources treat as the truest description of how a life feels from inside.

No — a palace is read with its occupants, its opposite palace and the four transformations together. The palace of the inner life — what a person actually enjoys and what they worry about. The Fortune Palace is the one the tradition uses to correct the rest of the chart: a strong outer reading with a weak inner one is a standard classical pattern, and the sources treat it as a real and common combination.

The tradition reads this palace against the Life Palace — the outer description and the inner one. Where they disagree, the classical sources generally weight the Fortune Palace for questions of contentment and the Life Palace for questions of capacity. It is grouped under Fire (火) in the five-element system.
