Sword
Overview
Where the knife is domestic, the sword is declarative. Traditional reading treats it as authority and judgement rather than as violence, and its state — sheathed, drawn, given — carries the weight.
Meaning
A sword carries the knife's separation meaning one step further: a decision made formally and in public.
Traditional Interpretation
A sword received is read as authority conferred; one found as authority assumed. In Chinese sources the blade is also linked to the Metal element's capacity to cut through a situation cleanly.

Does dreaming about sword point to something specific?
It points to a function rather than an event. A sword carries the knife's separation meaning one step further: a decision made formally and in public. A sword that is heavy rather than sharp shows up often in dream records, and the traditional reading takes the weight as the point: the authority is real but costly to carry.
